Introducing the new PEUGEOT 5008 SUV: the Family Hauler

(10 Mar 2021, Dubai, UAE) PEUGEOT has unveiled the facelifted 5008 SUV in the GCC – establishing the design codes of tomorrow at a higher calibre.

With a redesigned front end, Full LED rear lights and new body colours, the new PEUGEOT 5008 is a spacious SUV – enough room for the entire family.

Rakesh Nair, Managing Director for European Brands at Stellantis ME, said:

“We are proud to introduce the bold 5008 SUV for customers in the region. The family hauler has been redesigned to offer exciting new features for those looking for style, space, power and efficiency.

“With this addition, we hope to continue our mission of leaving a mark in the region’s SUV market.

“We are delighted to further strengthen our line-up by integrating our signature cutting-edge technology into a spacious interior, providing the utmost comfort for our customers in the GCC.”

Unchallenged fuel economy

The new 5008 is offered with a 1.6 litre turbo engine coupled to a 6-speed automatic transmission – producing 165 hp and 240 Nm of torque.

Manual and sports mode available for a dynamic driving experience.

The engine is in-line with the latest Euro 4 standards. And has undergone stringent and successful hot weather testing prior to its release in the region.

Not only is it strong and reliable…similar to the 2008 and 3008, it promises unrivalled fuel economy – averaging 15.1 kilometres/litre.

Cutting-edge technology: PEUGEOT i-Cockpit®

The 5008 features cutting-edge technology – including the latest evolution of its trademark PEUGEOT i-Cockpit®:

  • A compact steering wheel
  • 8-inch HD touch-screen found in the Active line
  • 10-inch HD touch-screen found in the Allure and GT models
  • Heads-up display unit with a high-resolution 12.3-inch digital screen

The central touch-screen is perfectly positioned. It’s accompanied by seven ‘piano key’ toggle switches – which operate the main i-Cockpit® features:

  • radio
  • air conditioning
  • navigation
  • vehicle settings
  • telephone
  • phone mirroring
  • ambient-lighting

in addition to multi-point seat-massage.

The i-Cockpit® heads up display unit sits above the steering wheel. It presents driving information within the eye line of the driver. And it’s entirely customisable with six different display modes.

An impressive array of equipment and driving aids

The 5008 offers a range of the latest-generation driving aids including:

  • Adaptive Cruise Control
  • Latest-generation Active Safety Brake
  • Lane Keeping Assist
  • Driver Attention Alert
  • High Beam Assist
  • Blind Spot Monitoring system
  • Visiopark 2 (360° vision)

Extended experience

Screen Mirroring – including a MirrorLink™ connection, Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ – integrates information into the central screen.

The 5008 SUV also features three identical, separate, and entirely adjustable seats. A third row of two fold-away retractable seats is available – for more space where needed.

Customise the large loading volume of the 5008 SUV’s boot to suit your needs. Take advantage of the low loading sill, 780-litre boot capacity and the foldable seats to load up to 3.2m items.

Top of the line design

The 5008’s design shows a dominant yet elegant presence, intertwined with the cosy luxurious interior – featuring:

  • a panoramic sunroof
  • different colour trims including black Nappa leather, Alcantara or Red Nappa leather upholstery.

The interior design of the 5008 is bold – with style based on PEUGEOT’s new design language.

As expressive as always, the signature 3D LED claws once again feature in the 5008. Day or night, you’ll find it on the rear on all versions and in the projectors of high-end versions.

The 5008 is a prime example of what happens when a company knuckles down and ushers in a new era of design and functionality.

For 2021, the 5008 will be available for customers in the GCC in March.
