For a million bucks, you could get the ONLY all-aluminium Aston Martin V12 Zagato Coupe in the world

This weekend, it’s the Queen’s birthday (Yep she has 2 birthdays), and if British royalty means something to you, then you’re definitely in for a treat. Almost as if to celebrate this ‘momentous occasion’ (yes the quotation marks may hurt some, deal with it), Aston Martin have availed an extremely rare, all-aluminium V12 Zagato Coupe. And for a million bucks, or around £800k, give or take a handful of Quid, it could be yours for the taking.

I can look at this all day

First unveiled in 2011, the Zag Coupe was already a rarity with only 64 models in the production lineup. Now you can get your hands on this (literally) one in 7 billion, very limited, one of its kind edition.

Never again will you say you’ve seen somebody else driving the same car. Until Rowan Atkinson pulls up next to you in a matching British Race Green coupe with a drool-factor of infinity and gives you the very familiar eye-brow raise and mischievous grin.

We see you Mr Bean, you stick to your McLaren F1 buddy!

Beautiful inside and out

And they’ve not just reworked the exterior into this green ball of explosive firepower. They’ve also retrimmed the interior and tweaked one of the sweetest sounding 5.9L V12 engines to give it a little extra edge over the ‘standard’ version’s 510bhp.

I mean, how can you say no to this?

It also takes design elements from the Milanese Carrozzeria such as the ‘double-bubble’ roof and short body overhangs, while the inside’s hand-trimmed leather features the Zagato motif, carrying across the door cards and a matching leather bag set accompanies the seats. You can read all about the recommissioning in the complementary book that comes with it.

The V12 that was always meant to be

It wasn’t a direct flight, lifting off from the design lab and into Aston Martin’s production pipeline for this zingy Zag. No sir. Initially just a showpiece for prospective V12 Zagato customers, the car then transferred into the ownership of Aston Martin itself.

Brought to you by Bell Sport and Classic

Until 2016, when, instead of heading to Zagato to join the designer house’s collection, a ‘special customer’ (can anyone get their journalistic sniff dogs to suss out this mystery?) exercised incredible powers of persuasion to slacken the luxury car brand’s hand from around this exquisite piece of machinery and part ways with it.

So while you’re peeking the mouth watering Aston Martin collection on a trip to Hertfordshire, instead of paying the gift shop a visit for a “I’m with stupid” t-shirt, you can drive off in this gorgeous V12 Zagato Coupe whose splendour knows no bounds. Unless Mr Atkinson’s already beaten you to it.

You can be him…or have the alum Zag. Your choice.

So, do you like hearing about sextastic cars like this one? Why not check out our GOAT series? We’ve got some serious firepower on there too!
