May’s Top 5 most Iconic and unusual movie vehicles

We ended April’s edition of iconic vehicles with the Mystery Machine. That got us thinking: there are some truly awe-tastic cars in the cartoon world. Wouldn’t you agree? That’s why for the month of May, we’re taking it down a few pixels and presenting you with some classic cartoon rides.

Fred’s footmobile

Someone will tell you that Karl Benz invented the first ever car in 1885. Hanna Barbera begged to differ.

It may lack the basic amenities of a modern car, air conditioning and power steering to name a few, not to mention it looks like something a bunch of boy scouts put together.

Still, we’ll forever remember Fred’s furious feet kicking their way to the nearest joint for a delectable bronto burger.

At least we know one thing for sure, Fred and Wilma never skipped leg day.

Yaba Daba Doo!

The Gadgetmobile

What do you get when you cross the Delorean with a Bond car? You guessed right. The Gadgetmobile. Not only does it have a rad AI similar to KITT (any Knight Rider fans out there?), but it also had the ability to transform into a Police Van.

And that’s not all. The Gadgetmobile could also go on the DL with camouflage, pick up minute details on a radar, and comes with a vending machine. You know, in case Inspector G’s craving beef jerky on the job.

Oh hey, let’s not forget, the Gadgetmobile totally nailed self driving. Suck it Elon.

Here’s the real question: who has more gadgets, the car or the Inspector?

Hitch a ride with Inspector G? Why not!

The Danger Car Mark III

Danger Mouse. The coolest spy with an accent to boot. The ladies love him, James Bond wants to be him, and to top it all, he’s got a ride worthy of this list.

A Professor Heinrich Von Squawkencluck invention, the Danger Car Mark III is a sleek piece of machinery, tailored to the best in the spy biz, and served as a worthy companion to DM and his Hamster-istic sidekick Penfold in foiling Baron Silas Greenback’s numerous plots.

Oh by the way, the car can fly at the bush of a button.

Who doesn’t want to be DM? He makes eye patches look cool for crying out loud.

The Jetsons’ Flying Car

Since the 60’s, people have been dreaming of a flying car (anyone still waiting since 2012 to take it to the skies and beat the jam?) It couldn’t get more iconic than the Jetsons’ fishbowl every-day vehicle.

Ferrying the family from school to shopping to work through the high rise bustle of the futuristic city, the flying car was so popular, it was voted an all-American favourite ahead of the Batmobile and Mystery Machine.

And to think, it’s 2020 and we’re still finding ourselves stuck in traffic.

Meet George Jetson…

The Party Wagon

The Party Wagon AKA the Turtle Van, is the primary mode of transportation for our four heroes in a half shell: the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

With a range of heavy artillery on the roof and moonlighting as a boat at times, this sturdy van was a key combatant against Shredder and the Foot.

You’ll most likely find Leonardo behind the wheel, and on occasion April O’Neil, however we absolutely can’t forget the time Robin, Batgirl and Nightwing fended Bane off aboard Donatello’s prime invention (bonus points if you’ve seen that crossover).

Cowabunga!

And there you have it, your 5 iconic and unusual movie and television vehicles. Which ones would you like to see on there for June’s edition?

#ICYMI here’s April’s top 5 iconic and unusual movie and television vehicles just for you.
