Al Ghandi Auto donates 10 Escalades to Dubai Police

Who said all heroes wear capes? Maybe some are just wrapped in decals and slick with gloss. Well gear up for this epic response, as Al Ghandi Auto donates 10 Cadillac Escalades to the Dubai Police in appreciation for their tireless efforts. Not a bad way to say thank you at all. Now, we don’t know if these have Lamborghini doors like 50 Cents’, but ah well that’s just how he do.  Ernie enjoyed the ride In any case, you can expect the police to keep up their round-the-clock patrols with the help of this new fleet.  Even you would be glad for a reprimand if one of these bad boys pulled up next to you. An occasion to savour  Commenting on the donation, Major General Abdullah Ali Al Ghaithi, Director of the General Department of Protective Security & Emergency, said:  “Dubai Police is committed to a safer city and as such is honored to receive support from local organizations in our fight against COVID-19.  “This generous donation of 10 Cadillac Escalades from Al Ghandi will greatly support our officers on the front line who are carrying out vital patrols to ensure the safety of residents in the Emirate.” 10…

Heads Up Displays (HUD) in Cars

Has COVID-19 got you feeling down? Well chin up, because here to temper that dismay is Heads Up Display. Okay enough with the dad jokes. It’s true that HUDs aren’t a new thing, especially in the military and gaming industry (look for those red dots on the mini-map), however it’s begun to pick up in cars, too. Today, we'll be looking at Heads up Displays (HUD) in cars. So what Is It? It’s information the user, say a driver, would need to know without having to avert his or her gaze. Simple right? We’re talking things like the speedometer, navigation systems, anything that will take your eyes off the road. Heck even night-vision info can be displayed. Pretty sweet, wouldn’t you say? Obviously it has way more uses in the military. That aircraft pilot being able to see everything they need to without looking at the various knobs and gauges could be vital in combat, where reaction times are essential to performance and survivability (cue top gun). Same goes for tanks.  Why Use it in Cars? The short answer? It will make life easier and driving just that much safer and more efficient.  Longer answer? Something called Eyes-on-the-road-benefit. This includes…

This amazing gesture from the German titans means Ambulances are now reserved for emergency and essential operations. A kind gesture from Audi Volkswagen Middle East What they say Khalifa Al-Drai, Executive Director of the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services praised these efforts, saying:  “This is a great example of a company standing side by side to support the safety and wellbeing of fellow members of society. UAE’s Fuel Prices for May 2020

UAE's fuel prices for May 2020 have been announced! Even if you live in a box under a bridge, you'd have definitely heard about the massive, unprecedented drop in oil prices below 0. We are not nearly financially savvy enough to explain how someone can sell something for negative money. Just take it at face value. This was a huge and extremely crazy deal. In April we saw a sizeable drop in the fuel price (averaging about 10% decrease), and since the oil market tanked the way it did, it would be reasonable to assume that the fuel prices would go down even more. Unfortunately this did not happen. Prices in May stay the same as in April. While this might seem confusing, we at Mikaniki are busy staying at home and so it really doesn't affect us all that much. Here are the details the UAE Fuel Price Committee announced: Super 98 price remains at AED 1.91/litreSpecial 95 price remains at AED 1.80/litreDiesel price remains at AED 2.06/litre https://twitter.com/MikanikiDXB/status/1255484277912997892 With COVID-19 affecting everyone, we hope you and your families are safe. Please do stay at home and maintain social distancing. Here are the official fuel price tweets from ENOC…
