One of a Kind series: the top 5 one-unit car editions

Last week, the only all aluminium Aston Martin V-12 Zagato Coupe in the world went on sale for close to a million bucks. That’s really one of a kind, right?

Imagine having the privilege of driving literally the only car of its kind? To not once have to eye the neighbour’s garage, or to cast envious looks over super sports cars parked along the shore on a pedestrian visit to St. Tropez (we all know you got kicked out of the VIP club too).

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be taking a closer look at some of the other supreme rarities that made the cut into the real world, and are currently parked in one garage and one alone. Join us on this epic One of a Kind series.

5. 1954 Oldsmobile F-88 Roadster

Kicking of our one of a kind series is this brainchild of Bill Lange. It was a real statement piece of the 50s, in an era that boasted the likes of the iconic 1954 Cadillac Eldorado.

It’s 5.3L super 88 V8 rocket engine delivered the power of 250 horses, a mean feat for its time.

The lone survivor sold for a whopping $3.24 million at a Barrett-Jackson auction. Read more about it here.

4. Ferrari P4/5

This delicious creation from Ferrari design house Pininfarina took the Enzo Ferrari’s musculature and married it to the P3/4 race car’s beauty.

The result? A class act, 226 kg lighter than the Enzo, and (barely) road legal. Check out the Ferrari P4/5 in One of a Kind’s episode 2!

3. Maybach Exelero

The closest we’ve probably ever come to the Batmobile, this 2.6-tonne monster of a car screams luxury and power.

Let’s just be thankful that it never fell into Birdman’s hands. He wanted to paint it red! Check out the Exelero in One of a Kind’s episode 3!

2. Ferrari 458 MM Speciale

This is what you get when you give a British car enthusiast a blank canvas and he gives you a blank check: a dreamy one-off Ferrari with your unique signature on it.

It joins the P4/5 as the second Ferrari on this list, and this one’s truly special because it was the last of Ferrari’s naturally aspirated V8 engines. Check it out here!

1. Ferrari 456 GT Venice

This is probably the rarest Ferrari that you’ve never heard of.

Once again, Brunei royalty dreamed up a remarkable Ferrari, this time a 5-door 5.5L V12 456 GT, and we are all gagging over it. Oh and, of course, it’s also a RHD. Check it out here!
