Star Wars characters’ Earthly rides

We’ve already looked at the cool vehicles existing in the Star Wars universe. But what about if our favourite Star Wars characters lived on Earth? What would they drive?

Would Han make .5 lightspeed behind the wheel of a Dodger Challenger Hellcat?

Some pink slip racing perhaps?

Ruggedly handsome and with the best (and hairiest) sidekick ever, Han Solo is as macho as they come.

Roaming the galaxy, scrounging for scraps, our favourite scruffy looking nerf herder’s done his fair share of rounds piloting the Millenium Falcon.

You Han. You.

A battered, war-torn craft of epic proportions, the Falcon has taken its place in the Star Wars hall of fame, most notably for destroying Death Star 2 at the hands of Lando Calrissian.

But here on Earth, you’ll see no Falcon. Well, maybe there’s one parked somewhere in B14 of the Pentagon’s basement.

We reckon Han wouldn’t mind trading his beloved warship for a chance at some pink slip racing in the somewhat grounded Dodger Challenger Hellcat.

Roaring at around 105 decibels, this obnoxious 6.2 litre V-8 speedster packs a powerful punch with up to 797 horsepower on the manual transmission variant. Ten bucks says Han can handle a stick.

Now imagine if he were to come up against John Wick’s Boss 429 along Highway 12 in Utah. Wouldn’t that be a sight.

Would Luke find the Force in the Rolls Royce Phantom?

Is this Luke’s colour?

He may have grown up on a farm, prompting you to think he should be driving a suped up tractor here on Earth, however Luke did save the galaxy, even managing to bring Anakin Skywalker back from behind the darkness of Vader’s helmet.

Along the way, Luke learned how to wield a lightsaber, “an elegant weapon for a more civilized age.”

‘”n elegant weapon for a more civilized age”

And while his farmboy days never truly left him, you’d think with the sizeable purse he earned from defeating the Galactic Empire, minus the cost of 10 destroyed Walkers on Hoth, he’d be likely to get himself a Rolls Royce Phantom EWB.

Oozing with class and sheer elegance, this smooth ride delivers 563 horsepower through a silent, but deadly, V-12 6.8L engine.

It’s not likely Luke will even want to drive himself around in this, and why would he when he can sit back with a glass of wine and Bar Refaeli for company. Maybe he can hire the Rock to chauffeur him for a day or two (his hourly rate must be off the charts).

Would Leia drive a BMW X3 to the UN headquarters?

Which way to the UN?

Princess Leia played an important part in the rebellion, and effectively started the chain reaction that saw Vader and his cronies fall. Sadly, she’ll forever be remembered as the gal who kissed her brother. Twin brother.

Okay, we will.

What with the scruples of a much divided politique in the world today, we could really do with Leia’s diplomatic prowess and shrewd negotiating power. She dealt with a talking fish for crying out loud (no offense Admiral Ackbar).

Just like most politicians today, you’d likely see her step down regally from an SUV, tricked out with bulletproof glass and a little overhead compartment for her spare blaster.

Needing to keep a low-key profile for the masses, the X3 remains in the sub 500s for horsepower, with a modest 265 hp, that can still get her out of a tightspot with an acceleration of 0 to 60mph in 5.8s.

For argument’s sake, let’s just say she’s got a Lamborghini Aventador SVJ roadster waiting for her back at the hotel.

There you have it, this is what we think our main Star Wars characters would drive. Do you agree? What about your other favourite characters? What do you reckon Darth Vader would drive? Let us know in the comments section.
