Question. Were you planning on going to Germany this year before COVID gave you an absolute kick in the yoo hoos?
Well, if you were, chances are you also had the Audi design lab in Ingolstadt on your itinerary, in between a Bratwurst and tour of medieval Augsburg.
Whoa, hey, don’t look so blue! In case you haven’t heard, Audi are offering live streaming tours of their world class design lab, and you can catch it without setting foot on Bavarian banks.
Audi’s awesome design lab
You can now get inside the brilliant minds of these expert guides, who’ll let you in on the Audi design philosophy.
Using video sequences, they’ll explain how the designers work, and show you some WIPs while you sip your Persian tea.
They’ve also set up a Q&A and have tried to make it as personal as possible, so if you’ve always wondered where they went wrong with the 2012 Audi A1 Sportback now’s your chance to ask.
How do I tour Audi’s design lab online?
To take part, simply go onto www.audi.stream and book a time and date that suits you. Just don’t do it on an empty stomach, you might get queasy from some of the delectable future designs. Or come across the A1 Sportback.
Sessions are currently conducted in German, with English to follow. But hey, that could be 2 things you could tick off your lock down list: touring Ingolstadt and learning a new language.
How much does it cost?
In case you need any more convincing, these sessions are absolutely free. With the exception of standard internet charges of course, but we all know you don’t mind that when you’re livestreaming other, steamier things (ahem, Master Chef).
And it’s not the first time Audi have done such a thing. ‘Insight Audi Design’ comes after their successful ‘Audi live at the Ingolstadt factory’ online tour that kicked off November 2019.
Drive an Audi? You can benefit from their extended warranty. Details here.
Have you already taken advantage of Audi’s online design lab tour? What did you take away from it? Any cool designs to look forward to?
